To The New York Capitol District Renaissance Festival.  The apple orchards and strawberry fields of Altamont Farms have once again been transformed into The Royal Village of Appleton for your pleasure. Knights, ladies, minstrals, and probably a few rogues as well, populate the village. Upon entering, you'll enjoy games, food, and of course vendors of all sorts of wondrous goods.

She brings her array of beautiful handmade masks, eye patches and hair accessories that are just what you require to complete your period attire, or embellish that unique outfit. The festival lasts the entire weekend, so choose the perfect day to enjoy time-traveling to a distant era to create you own fairy tale.

This weekend as the days lengthen and the warm breezes prevail, our makers will be participating in two diverse events. On Saturday, at the estate at Madava Farms, BeauTeaStudio will bring their glorious assortment of full leaf organic teas, hand-crafted botanical skincare, soy candles and vintage teaware to the HV Market at Crown Maple. Beau Tea's products are a delight for the senses, so stop by to indulge.

Next stop, Catskill, N.Y. Two makers will be taking part in the Summer Salon. The opening reception is June 3rd from 5-7PM, but the Salon runs through July 22, so you'll have many opportunities to attend (or return) until then.
Included in the show are the exquisite masks by Dara, of Dara Gallery. Each mask is completely designed and handmade by the artist.

Makers-on-Hudson will be enjoying the beautiful weather at two very different events this weekend. If you love The Renaissance era, then hasten thee to Altamont, N.Y. near Albany, on Saturday and Sunday for the NY Capitol District Renaissance Festival . There you can partake in all the festivities, and also meet Dara, from Dara Gallery, purveyor of beautiful, handmade masks and accessories. Dara uses both paper mache and leather to create her gorgeous masks, eye patches and hair accessories for men and women

While you are "hastening," don't forget to meander over to Dover Plains, in Dutchess County, on Saturday only, to visit Jules and Olya of  Beau Tea Studio at the Crown Maple/Organic Hudson Valley Food and Arts Festival . Their tea shop and apothecary features organic teas, body products and lovely vintage tea cups. Perfect gifts for anyone.  We're sure you will enjoy these two unique events and meeting two of our talented makers in person.
